Orderly Sidewalk Operation Targets Many Streets in Jakarta

The Jakarta Satpol PP intensifies the Orderly Sidewalk Operation 2025 aimed at restoring the function of sidewalks that are often misused, especially for illegal parking.

This also refers to Bylaw Number 8/2007 on public order

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Satriadi Gunawan said this operation was a must due to the rampant violations related to parking on sidewalks, which disrupts the function of public facilities.

This referred to Jakarta Bylaw Number 5/2012 on parking, as well as Gubernatorial Regulation Number 102/2013 on the provision and management of off-street parking facilities.

"This also refers to Bylaw Number 8/2007 on public order," he expressed, Thursday (2/27).

He explained that previously, the officers had held outreach in the form of a letter to business owners, urging them not to misuse sidewalks and other public facilities as parking spaces.

"Hopefully, they can provide their own parking space," he hoped.

He urged all parties to collaborate with the Satpol PP in maintaining order and the function of sidewalks, as well as to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving the function of sidewalks and other public facilities for everyone's comfort.

"Our officers have also coordinated with the national army/police, prioritizing a persuasive, preventive, and humanitarian approach in handling public order violations," he explained.
